This medal is by far my favorite of all German Medals.

Please post yours!

Here are my 1937 versions. Notice the three known variants of this medal... two are in silver and one is in silverwashed zinc(the silver has long evaporated).

The funny thing is that each Germanic Kindom had it's own Lifesaving medal. I have only been able to find the Prussian Imperial and Third Reich Versions.

The others are VERY rare. I have only seen one other, a Saxon!

Raymond,

Spendid medals!! Do any of them have any markings? I love the patina on the center medal!

SADolch,

Thanks for your kind comments! I crave these medals as many do the Knights Cross. The funny thing is that awarded specimens are far rarer, IMHO.

Regards
Paul

Thanks for your replies. These medals are definately under appreciated, value wise. May they stay that way... for a least a little while longer!

Seriously, the desireablity in these pieces must be picking up as the prices have really started to sky rocket! The collector's guild is selling one for 800 dollars! Eek If prices were based on rarity, this would be a bargain. Yet when compared to what they were going for a couple of years ago, this price is simply insane.

Item M-347a for those that might wish to look.

Must have sold. I should have asked Bill Shea about the possibility of saving the image to this site for posterity.
