Hi Folks

Here are some more IAB that I picked up as part of a bunch of stuff from a bloke who said his Dad was a Brit MP in Germany at the end of the war.

Your comments would be most welcome. Combat badges are not my thing.

Here is the first one. Makers mark is SH u Co and the fig 41

and the next one. As you can see FLL and hinge repaired. How much does that detract from the value?

Hello James

IAB #1 looks to be a good ShuCo. There are two different dyes used to make these mm examples. One is referred to as a 4 vein and the other is a 5 vein. I cannot tell with out a pic of the obverse.

IAB #2 looks to be a good FLL solid zinc. These are considered an early "late" war badge. The circles seen around the catch area are a trait common to this maker. The hinge and catch have been repaired.

IAB #3 is a unmarked S & L attributed example with crimped in hinge and catch. On your example the catch has been repaired.

IAB #4 is a late war unmarked FLL hollow bronze in zinc. The thought here is this was another cost savings switching from a massive to a hollow material badge.

The repairs do detract from value for a collector as most strive to find complete original examples.
